Since no one's said anything yet (except the mod, o'course), what's everyone's favorite tip/trick? One of my favorites is using two different colors of eyeliner (I'll post a picture if anyone wants to see what I mean).

I love doing makeup from http://www.livejournal.com/community/makeuptutorials/ That comm. rocks! :) Once you know what colors work with your skin tone.. it's pretty easy to adapt.. like using white eyeshadow as a highlighter color just looks funny.. so I use a shimmery pale gold.. it gives the same effect and looks much more natural.

What about a gold eyeliner? If you're darker skinned, would you use a pale gold eyeliner instead of a white one to make your eyes pop more?

for that.. you'd use a color that is similar to the white part of your eyes.. gold would probably look really cute tho

Hmm... one of my favorite things to do is to use a strong base for color. A lot of times my skin kind of "absorbs" the color and it doesn't look as intense on me because of that. So I found some things at MAC that are paints that work wonderfully to create a solid color foundation and then you put your eyeshadow on top of that. Bare Essentials also has something like it (you have to do the mixing yourself, but the pigments are very pure). I also like shimmery brown eyeliner and pairing it with black eye liner.

I really like this community and I'll join it and try to be active!

Well, my favorite are neutral and berry colors. I use browns for my eyes and a pinkish brown for my lips in the day. I haven't tried a dark berry but want to.
